Apple Cider
Ingredients:
5 lbs Apples
2 oranges
2 cinnamon sticks
1 whole nutmeg
1 cup honey (12 ounces)
! tablespoon cloves
2 pitchers of water.
Directions:
- In a very large pot, add the following.Slice your apples with a knife or apple slicer which also cored and slices.
- Also slice your oranges (don’t remove the orange peels.)
- Add 4 cinnamon sticks,add nutmeg,add1 whole nutmeg.
- Add 1 tbsp cloves,drizzle the top with honey.
- Add water 2 pitchers
- Bring the pot to boil over high heat,for the first one hour,then reduce your heat to medium low and continue to boil uncovered for the next 3 hours.
- The Juice should be amber in color when done,taste as needed, add honey,for more sweetness and more hot water if the juice is too concentrated.
- The flavor should be sweet and spicy. Strain your cider through a fine mesh colander or cheese cloth, placed over the colander,squeeze out as much juice as possible and discard the fruit pulp and spices.
- Garnish with cinnamon sticks,sliced orange & apple.
- Serve hot and enjoy.
