Dulce de Leche
Dulce de Leche is condensed milk heated until it thickens and caramelizes.When you prepare it with a slow cooker it takes a considerable amount of time. If you use a pressure cooker it takes 40 ims, with the same result in a fraction of the time.
Ingredients:
1 can sweetened condensed milk.
Directions:
- Clean your mason jar,pour sweetened condensed milk into the mason jar,secure the jar with lid and bands.
- Place the jar on the rack of your insta pot, pour water into the pressure cooker just below the lids.
- Cook for 40mins on high pressure with quick release of pressure.
- The can will be hot, be careful, use a kitchen towel to lift.
- Cover the jar with a kitchen towel and allow it to cool.
- Dont;t open the jar until the jar is at room temperature.
Other Methods Include:
Popping a can of condensed milk into your oven, if you happen to be baking, you can open the condensed milk, remove the lid and place the tin on your baking tray,by the time your baking is done your condensed milk would be thick and caramelized.Initially it may seem runny ,as it cools it thickens.
