Fried yam
Ingredients
Yam
Oil for frying
Water
Salt
Directions
Peel and slice your yam as would, for french fries or your desired shape size,
Rinse out your yam until your water turns clear
Add fresh water to cover yam, add salt to taste
Heat up some oil in a medium sized frying pan, using a long cooking spoon, add sliced yam to your hot oil. This has to be done carefully to avoid splashes of hot oil
After a few minutes, add a few drops of salted water at intervals, this allows your fried yam to be soft and chunky at the same time.
Remove your fried yam, once done, place on a paper towel lined plate to remove excess oil. Repeat this process for the leftover sliced yam
Serve and enjoy!
You can serve this with fried stew.
