Rice & beans
Ingredients:
1 cup beans
3 cups rice
Water
Salt
2 tablespoon veg oil
Directions
- Rinse and cook your beans in a pot until tender but not mushy, drain the water and set aside.
- Parboil your rice as you would for white rice, half way through the cooking process, rinse it out to remove the starch,until your water becomes clear.
- Return your rice to the stove and reduce your heat to low.
- Add water to cover just an inch of the rice level.
- Add 2 tablespoon of veg oil, add salt to taste.Now pour in your beans and mix together.
- Allow to steam on low heat for 15-20 mins. Then turn off your heat.
- Serve and enjoy with your favorite stew .
